Catalonia and Beyond

The services of the Consortium for the Commercial Promotion of Catalonia are not restricted to Catalan firms. In 2008, COPCA completed a European Union-funded project in Ecuador, according Isidre Sala Queralt, the group's manager of international cooperation. The project aimed to help improve the capacity of the agency tasked with promoting internationalization of Ecuadorian firms, he says.

Sam Mednick
Sam Mednick graduated with a combined bachelor's degree, with honors, in multidisciplinary studies and journalism from the University of Kings College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has worked in radio as the executive producer of the Good Life Show, hosted her own talk radio shows, and worked as a correspondent and journalism trainer in northern Ghana. Sam was a fellow in Barcelona from November 2007 to April 2008. She freelances regularly for newspapers, magazines and online publications and continues to freelance for Devex as well. Sam's native tongue is English; she has a working knowledge of Spanish and Hebrew.
