Why Borrowers Don't Always go for the Best Loan

 

The poor regularly approach different kinds of lenders for loans that fit different terms, values, and repayment structures, says Jonathan Morduch, a New York University economics professor who co-authored "Portfolios of the Poor," a book published in early 2009, with Stuart Rutherford, Daryl Collins and Orlanda Ruthven. The implications for microfinance initiatives are complex.
