Barcelona's chamber of commerce is partnering with Devex and Spanish consulting company Euradia to help local enterprises and organizations compete internationally for procurements and contracts.
Public institutions and private organizations have increasingly addressed the issue of business globalization in Spain's autonomous region of Catalonia.
"We understand that the Catalan market has been in need of a strong presence [in international contracting] which is currently missing," Euradia's international director Manuel Alonso said before company executives in a Feb. 11 conference. Devex's cofounder and senior partner Kamiar Dar also spoke at the event.
Under the one-year program sponsored by Cambra de Commerc de Barcelona, Catalan firms and organizations can receive specialized assistance from Euradia for successful bidding and become Devex small business members at reduced rates. Catalan companies will be able to purchase Devex's services at $60 per month instead of the regular $75.
"While Devex offers its high-quality information service, we will assist companies in the process," Alonso told Devex in an interview, explaining that Euradia will provide, among other services, counseling, training and travel grants to organizations that will take part in the program.
