A second phase of the European Commission-funded trade support program for Indonesia is expected to be launched this year, an EC delegation official told Devex.
With an indicative budget of 15 million euros, the project will focus on strengthening the compliance of Indonesian exports to international technical, safety and sanitary standards. Procurements will begin in 2010, the official said.
As the executing agency the Indonesian Ministry of Trade will handle the procurement process but the commission will manage the contract for technical assistance. EC procurement procedures will be employed for all tenders.
The first phase of the trade support initiative started in 2005 and ended last year. It had a budget of 9.4 million euros, with 8.5 million euros provided by the commission.
