The Asian Development Bank is expected to disburse some $500 million in budget support for the Philippines next month, the country's finance department announced. The loan,

reports, will be drawn from the regional lender's countercyclical facility. ADB is also financing a rural infrastructure project worth $150 million, which would benefit 779 of the nation's impoverished municipalities, according to

. The project aims to build farm-to-market roads, irrigation systems and potable water networks, as well as support capacity-building initiatives for local government units.
