Summary

Chevron's Community Engagement program is aimed at building human and institutional capacity to achieve long-term economic development and promote overall prosperity in communities where we operate.

Our Community Engagement program is a tangible expression of our vision and values, The Chevron Way. The relationships we have built with governments, other companies, our customers and communities in over 180 countries where we work demonstrate our commitment to these core values.

In 2006, Chevron invested over $90 million globally through partnerships with non-profit organizations to help create sustained economic growth in these communities. The continued focus of these efforts is aimed at building human and institutional capacity.

Critical areas of focus:

1. Basic Human Needs: Food security, shelter, health and sanitation.

2. Education & Training: School-based (K-12) programs, work-based career/technical programs and training/professional development for educators.

3. Business Development: Services for entrepreneurs, business incubators, sector development support and micro credit programs.
