The Office of Evaluation (EVAL) at the International Labour Office (ILO) is seeking Interns to work at ILO headquarters in GENEVA, Switzerland as Evaluation Research Assistants (ERA). EVAL is an independent evaluation office situated in the Management and Administration Sector which reports directly to the Director-General of the ILO. ERA internships are full-time, for a period of three to six months.

Description of Duties ERAs will work with office staff on project, program evaluation, thematic and high-level evaluations. The office’s current year work plan includes thematic evaluation and research in migration and high-level independent country program evaluations of the ILO program in support of Zambia and Jordan. ERAs can also expect to work on other products produced by the office, such as the periodic evaluations of the Bank’s development programs with borrowing countries.

This is an opportunity to have first-hand experience assessing the public policies that shape equal access to decent work. It is also an opportunity to work with unique data sets, and to be involved with the most challenging labour and development issues facing ILO tripartite constituents. Required Qualifications Education Recent MA, MS, in social sciences Experience Experience with applied work Languages Fluency in English and one of the other working languages of the ILO (French, Spanish or Arabic) Competencies Excellent writing skills (preferably in English) Proven research skills (samples should be attached) Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis Knowledge of the use of quantitative, statistical techniques Working knowledge of Excel, ACESS, Power Point Familiarity with document production software Additional Information: Applicants interested in the position should complete the on-line application form https://erecruit.ilo.org/e-jobs/public/ejobs-login.cfm?o_c=2000 and send a copy of CVs and a cover letter to: EVAL@ilo.org
