The main goal of the Investment Program is to support the sustainability of the state electricity sector by increasing its transmission and distribution capacity in order to support inclusive and low-carbon economic growth.
This operation is the Subproject 1 of the Investment Program.
The estimated total loan for this operation is about US$ 16.3 million.

Tranche 1 will finance a set of projects for the transmission of power for additional capacity in transmission lines and transformation through the construction of 1 new 220/132 kV substation, and 5 new 132/33 kV substations. This tranche will also finance the expansion and augmentation of 2 existing substations.

The Project 1 has been approved by the Board on 18 November 2009. The total cost of Project 1 is estimated at US$ 95 million. ADB will provide US$ 60.3 million of the total project cost.
